Can we microwave Fryums?
Microwave Fryums: Take a microwave-safe plate, place the fryums with some distance between them and pop it in for a few seconds. That’s it, no oil, not even a drop and it will be ready in 30-60 secs depending on different textures.
Can you bake Fryums?
Small sized papads, fryums and other such stuff may be roasted in large quantities at once. Microwave on high till they are done. It will take about 25 seconds for mini papads and wheat fryums pictured below. Usually it will take a minute per batch for original size papads (Bigger ones) and colored fryums.
What are Indian Fryums?
Far-far (also fryum, bobby) is an Indian snack food composed primarily of potato starch and tinted sago. They may also contain tapioca and wheat flour. Far-far puff up instantly when deep fried, and they are either eaten as a snack or served like a papadum to accompany a meal.

Stove top Method
- To make a Roast Papad, hold the papad with tongs and start roasting the papad evenly on a low-medium flame.
- The blisters should be even and golden colored.
- Shift the tongs to a roasted part of the papad to roast the side where tongs were held and was hence away from fire.

Can you deep fry in the microwave?
We do not and have never recommended deep frying in a microwave. Most containers on the market are not designed to withstand temperatures of 350-395 degrees Fahrenheit required for deep fat frying. Plastic utensils and Corning pyroceramic dishes will not withstand these high temperatures.
How do you cook Papadums in the oven?
One option is to simply lay out the poppadoms in a single layer on a baking sheet, and bake them briefly at 375 or 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The poppadoms won’t puff, as they do when fried; instead, they bake to a crisp, toasty texture not unlike a tortilla chip. They’ll burn quickly, so watch them closely as they cook.
